WATCH THE REGISTER

I made the mistake on my first trip of not watching the register and 4 of my coupons didn't double up all the way. I lost about .40 per coupon and even though it only adds up to about 1.60 loss on my part, it is still a loss. You want to make sure everything rings up the right way cause you don't want to have to come back.

SCOPE OUT THE CASHIER

I'm stealing this tip from The Krazy Coupon Lady. She says that while it isn't nice to profile people, she will scope out cashiers and go with the younger male cashier. * Take note that I tried this advise at Harris Teeter and it didn't work out so well for me. But I do tend to go to the younger staffed cashiers cash they actually tend to argue the coupon policy less.

STAPLE OR PAPERCLIP WHILE CLIPPING

I retrieved this tip off of the Raining Hot Coupons website. Basically, any one who clips multiple like inserts should separate the pages and stack them together then either staple or paperclip the coupons together so you can clip them all at one time. Leave them stapled together for better organization and for when you hand them to the cashier. If you paperclip it just take the paperclip off before you hand it to your cashier.

DON'T LEAVE YOUR BINDER AT HOME

When you go shopping don't just take the coupons you are going to use. Stores have closeout prices and clearance items all the time. If you see an item on closeout or clearance and you know you have a coupon for it, what good is it if you left your binder at home? Just remember though that coupons are meant to stack with sales. Don't use a coupon just cause you have it!

NOT ALL SITES MAY WORK ON YOUR COMPUTER

I have a Mac with the Snow Leopard browser and so I can not print coupons from SmartSource. I try to print those coupons on a different Pc but I may not always be able too. Sometimes if you run into this issue you can uninstall your Java and then installing again. If you have a problem go to the FAQ or help section to check out the trouble shooting section.

ONE COUPON PER PURCHASE

This does not mean you can only use one coupon per transaction like some like to argue. This actually means you can only use one manufacturers coupon per item purchased. You can also still stack store coupons with this coupon.

PICTURES ARE NOT THE END ALL

Just because the coupon has a certain product pictured on the coupon, it doesn't mean that you can only purchase that item. Read the coupon and if it says ANY such and such brand then it means you can purchase ANY of that brand. Make sure you also check size amounts and if it excludes trial size.
